One Year to Eighteen Months Before the Wedding
1. Venue: Reserve the wedding ceremony venue and pay deposit if required.
2. Clergy: Reserve the date with the clergyman and plan ceremony. Inquire about required religious documents or classes.
3. Organist: Reserve the date with the organist. Six Months Before the Wedding
1. Rehearsal Date: Reserve your rehearsal date and time with wedding ceremony venue. Contact clergy and organist with necessary information.
2. Classes: Begin required premarital wedding instruction.
3. Readings / Songs: Begin the selection process of chosing readings and music for the wedding ceremony. One to Two Months Before the Wedding
1. Classes: Complete required premarital wedding instruction.
2. Readings / Songs: Finalize readings and music for the wedding ceremony. Make sure organist, vocalist and readers have your choices as soon as finalized.
3. Vows: Write wedding vows (if desired).
3. License: Obtain wedding license as required by local/state jurisdiction. Submit license to clergyman. Rehearsal
1. Timing: Plan to arrive at least 1/2 hour before the rehearsal. Ensure all direct participants attend the rehearsal.
2. Venue: Review venue to ensure placement of flowers, candles, etc.
