Head Table Seating Etiquette
|
A wedding head table is generally rectangular or u-shaped. It is usually placed along one side of the wedding reception room. The wedding reception head table can also be elevated to set it apart from the other wedding tables in the room. Usually, the bride, the groom and their attendants are all seated at the wedding head table along the same side so that everyone attending the reception can see them. If the bride and groom want a more intimate wedding head table, they can be seated at a small round table together and their wedding party can sit at another assigned wedding table or they can be integrated into the guest table seating plans. If you choose an intimate wedding reception head table seating plan, remember to have it centrally located and to sit facing as many guests as possible, the day is for you and you are the focal point of the wedding. Try to create an arrangement that makes everyone feel comfortable and honors special guests when you are arranging table seating for your guests. It is proper etiquette to designate tables for the bride and groom’s parents and grandparents. Be sure that all of the parents’ tables are equivalent in size and importance. |
